GOLD Minor weakness in centre, otherwise extremely fine
The occurance of a mint master (sahib as-sikka) by the name of Muhammad with the clear date 324 H. is of particular interest because George C. Miles had concluded from his knowledge of coins with the name of Muhammad 320-321, 330 and finally 332-346 H. with other names in between that these Muhammads were different officials. Bearing in mind trhat the office of the Sahib as-sikka in Spain was a state official rather than an entrepreneur, the intermittent reoccurance of the same name seems rather to indicate the position of a vice mint master, who could take responsibility during periods of absence of a superior official.
